  1. Introduction

This Payment Policy (“Policy”) governs all payments made to Reach Folks (Pty) Ltd (Registration No. 2014/061014/07), trading as Spare24 (“Spare24”, “we”, “our”, “us”).
Spare24 is an online retailer of high premium quality tyres and auto parts in South Africa. This Policy outlines how payments are processed, the methods accepted, security measures, refunds, and the handling of payment information in compliance with South African law, including:

  • Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), 2013 (Act No. 4 of 2013)
  • Consumer Protection Act (CPA), 2008 (Act No. 68 of 2008)
  • Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), 2002 (Act No. 25 of 2002)

By making a payment on www.spare24.co.za, you (“the Customer” or “you”) agree to be bound by the terms of this Payment Policy, our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Return Policy.

  1. Accepted Payment Methods

Spare24 provides secure and convenient payment options for our customers:

2.1. Online Payments (Payfast Gateway)

  • Payments can be made via Payfast, a trusted and secure South African payment gateway.
  • Accepted methods include:
    • Visa
    • MasterCard
    • American Express
    • Debit cards
    • Credit cards
    • Instant EFT (through Payfast)
  • All transactions are encrypted and processed securely through SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and comply with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).

2.2. EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)

  • Customers may opt to pay via direct EFT into Spare24’s bank account.
  • Bank details will be provided upon checkout.
  • Important: Orders paid via EFT will only be processed once full payment has cleared in Spare24’s bank account. Proof of payment should be emailed to hello@spare24.co.za with the order number as reference.

2.3. Payments on Delivery (Speed Point Card Machine)

  • For approved customers or specific delivery areas, payments may be made via Speed Point card machine upon delivery.
  • Accepted cards include Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
  • Cash payments are not accepted unless pre-approved by Spare24.
  1. Payment Processing and Confirmation
  • Upon successful payment, you will receive an order confirmation email detailing your purchase.
  • Orders will not be dispatched until payment has been successfully verified.
  • If payment is not received within 48 hours (for EFT), Spare24 reserves the right to cancel the order.
  1. Pricing and Currency
  • All prices displayed on www.spare24.co.za are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include Value Added Tax (VAT) unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices are subject to change without prior notice, but once an order is confirmed and paid, the price will not change.
  • Any delivery or courier fees will be displayed during the checkout process.
  1. Security and Data Protection

Spare24 prioritizes your privacy and payment security.

  • We do not store your full credit card details or banking information.
  • All online transactions are securely processed via Payfast, which employs strong encryption and fraud prevention tools.
  • Personal information collected during payment is processed in accordance with the POPI Act, and only for the purpose of completing the transaction.
  • Customer account details are protected by secure passwords and encryption. Customers are encouraged to maintain strong passwords and safeguard their login credentials.

  1. Fraud Prevention
  • Spare24 reserves the right to verify the identity of the cardholder and the validity of payment before processing any order.
  • Any suspected fraudulent activity will be reported to the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Cybercrimes Unit in accordance with the Cybercrimes Act, 2020 (Act No. 19 of 2020).
  • Orders may be delayed or cancelled if fraud is suspected.
  1. Refunds and Returns

Refunds are governed by our Return Policy, in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

  • Refunds will only be issued to the same account or card used for the original payment.
  • Refunds will be processed within 7–10 working days once approved.
  • A full or partial refund may be provided depending on the nature of the return and condition of the product.
  1. Warranty and Fitment Disclaimer
  • Spare24 does not undertake tyre fitment.
  • Warranty is only valid if tyres are unused or were fitted by a recognized fitment centre.
  • Incorrect fitment, damage from misuse, or installation at non-recognized centres will invalidate the warranty and void any refund eligibility.
  1. Payment Disputes
  • If you believe an unauthorized transaction has occurred, contact us immediately at support@spare24.co.za.
  • Disputes must be reported within 7 days of the transaction.
  • We will investigate the claim and may liaise with Payfast or relevant banks to resolve the matter.
